Players To Watch This Season

The long summers wait is now over, and the new Premiership season has begun. With over 80 new signings coming into the league, fans will no doubt be relishing the opportunity to see their new players in action. With no place guaranteed this season, everyone is going to have to give 100% in order to help their clubs achieve. I will now be looking some players who have the potential to light up the Premiership this season.

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez (Manchester United)
Transfer Fee: £7 Million

Last Seasons Stats
Appearances: 27
Goals: 13

The young Mexican joined Manchester United last season for £7 Million, which, compared to some of the transfer fees, is an absolute bargain. Hernandez has already shown himself to be a real live wire, and is the type of player defenders dread. Very quick and agile on the ball, and is comfortable using both his feet and his head. He possesses lots of talent, and his back-header against Stoke was a great example of this.

Luis Suarez (Liverpool)
Transfer Fee: £22.8 Million
Last Seasons Stats
Appearances: 14
Goals: 5

Luis Suarez arrived at Liverpool in the January transfer window and became an instant hit with the fans. After loosing Kop favourite Fernando Torres, who moved to Chelsea for £50 Million, Suarez looks like a player who could go on and become an even bigger hero than Torres. With his great talent and huge enthusiasm for the game, Liverpool fans are always left wondering what the Uruguayan will do next. Suarez also won player of the tournament at this years Copa America tournament.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
Transfer Fee: £35 Million
Last Seasons Stats
Appearances: 32
Goals: 20

Aguero is so far the most expensive signing of this summers transfer window. Not only does he have the pressure of a big fee, but it also looks like he will be the player to replace Manchester City talisman Carlos Tevez. Opinions on Aguero differ greatly, with some people thinking Aguero will make a massive impact on Man City, while others fear he will become a very expensive flop.

Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland)
Transfer Fee: £14 Million
Appearances: 31
Goals: 10

Gyan signed for Sunderland last summer after an excellent World Cup campaign. Many people believe Gyan and Ghana should have got further, but were stopped controversially by a Luis Suarez Handball. Gyan possesses a great amount of pace and strength and has the ability to cause defences real problems. The Ghanaian is also know for his extravagant celebrations.

Fernando Torres (Chelsea)
Transfer Value: £50 Million
Appearances: 14
Goals: 1

The addition of Fernando Torres may surprise a few people after the poor season he has last time. Since making his £50 Million from Liverpool to Chelsea, Torres has struggled to find form, and the net, having only scored 1 goal in 14 appearances. Torres has proved in seasons past though, that he is a natural finisher, and once he finds that little bit of confidence, he has the potential to return to his former glory and prove to be a good signing for Chelsea.

Other players worth of noting

Nani - Has really proved himself since Ronaldo left United, and is looking better every season. He has already proved his eye for goal with 2 goals in the Community Shield.

Charlie Adam - Adam last season showed his amazing dead ball abilities, and Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will be looking to utilise his great talent.

David De Gea - De Gea has come in as a replacement for retired Van Der Sar. The young Spanish goalkeeper has great potential, and could be a quality goalkeeper for years to come.

Romelu Lukaku - Dubbed the new Drogba. At only 18, it is unlikely he will be playing every week, but he has shown massive potential at his old club, Anderlecht. Definitely one to watch in the future.

Charles N'Zogbia - Brought in by Aston Villa to replace Downing, the Frenchman has a good season with Wigan, and will no doubt get better working with better players
